Power

Most newly-built properties have sufficient socket outlets to satisfy the demanding needs of the modern life. This usually means double sockets in each corner of each room and lots of them in the kitchen. Not only does this keep things looking neat and tidy, it's also by far the safest way of connecting equipment to the electrical supply.

By contrast, older properties are woefully inadequate in terms of the number of sockets installed. This leads to a prolific use of trailing leads and multi-plug adaptors.
